AEG Environmental is a full-service environmental management firm. Our mission is to help our clients meet their environmental compliance objectives in a cost-effective manner. With over 20 years of experience in the waste management industry, we are equipped to handle any and all facility needs for clients in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland.
AEG Environmental was founded as a government contractor working mainly with the Department of Defense and the United States Postal Service. In the early nineties, these agencies wanted vendors to consolidate according to their operation specialties. The result was that a government facility could contact one company to handle a project from its inception to closure. We have positioned AEG as a true environmental management company. We delivered a superior product through economies of scale, increased quality, and cost controls. This system worked so well with the government that AEG Environmental started to offer this service to commercial clients in 1996.
As a full-service environmental management company, AEG Environmental can accurately assess our clients’ needs and craft specific solutions to address those needs. Our wide mix of services encompass 24-hour emergency response, disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, vacuum tanker services, lab packing services, site remediation, and DOT, EPA, and OSHA training services. Our group of dedicated, highly-trained professionals includes certified hazardous materials managers, degreed chemists, environmental scientists, underground tank technicians, and hazardous materials technicians.
AEG Environmental follows a strict waste disposal hierarchy in which wastes are recycled, reused, and incinerated for energy reclamation as an alternative to landfill. Our clients can be notified of the date and location of all waste disposal in the form of a Certificate of Disposal issued by AEG Environmental.
September 11th
AEG Environmental is proud to have served a role in the emergency response and cleanup of the 2001 terrorist attacks on America. AEG responded to the September 11th attack on the Pentagon as well as the Anthrax bioterrorism attacks in Washington, D.C. We were contracted to manage a portion of the remedial actions that took place at the Pentagon crash site in the months following the September 11th attack. Our role was primarily to manage the decontamination of items being removed from the damaged building. Many pieces of equipment and valuable records needed to be salvaged from the building. All of these items were exposed to smoke and mold and they could have posed health risks to employees had they not been decontaminated. We also played a part in the management of the health and safety monitoring throughout the asbestos abatement portions of the demolition project.
AEG Environmental was also a major responder to the Anthrax bioterrorism attacks that took place in Washington, DC in October 2001. AEG was awarded several General Services Administration contracts to remediate Anthrax contaminated facilities in and around the District. In addition, we also played an instrumental role in the decontamination of the US Postal Service Brentwood Bulk Mail Center. John Bridges – the US Postal Service manager in charge of the Brentwood facility decontamination project and The EPA’s 2002 Environmental Professional of the Year – personally recognized AEG for our professionalism and commitment to the project.
